Daily Art Challenge – Day 1

Japanese-Anenomes.web

My good friend and artist Michelle Milburn enlisted me in a daily art challenge to post one piece of my work every day for five days this week on Facebook. I also have to nominate one other artist each day too. I’ve decided to do it via my blog so I can share my work more widely but also the work of other artists whom I admire.

So here goes. This is a collagraph of mine. The plate is mount board and the image is made up from a combination of gesso, carborundum and PVA and incisions into the mount board with the first layer of paper peeled off. It is printed on Fabriano Rosepina 285 gsm paper stock using Hawthorne Printmaker Supplies stay open inks.

The artist I would like to nominate is a South African artist Monique-Day-Wilde. A mixed media artist I met last summer in my studio.

Monique is also the author of a plethora of art books and a teacher. She teaches workshops in Pringle Bay where she lives and works and in Cape Town. She is also on Instagram and Facebook.
