The Hill of Odin-172

The Hill of Odin-172 – A print based on the Hill of Odin, a Norse God. The geology is made up of sandstone and volcanic ‘wedges’  that push through to form the distinctive wedge shapes in the landscape and a natural barrier between the North of England.

The print was created from a collagraph plate using wood filler, carborundum and PVA to create the textured surface on wood ply to which I’ve taken a blow torch to the plate surface to create exaggerated and organic textures. The ink is applied using brushes and rags before printing from the plate.
