Celebrating The Inaugural Printmakers of Scotland Festival of Scottish Printmaking

Here is a date for your diary! This August 16th-18th, the University of Stirling will host the first-ever Printmakers of Scotland Festival of Printmaking.

Inspired by the long-standing success of The UK’s foremost event for original prints, Ulverston's esteemed Printfest, this inaugural festival promises a similar spirit of artistic energy and discovery. The event opens on Friday, 16th August (5-8pm) with a preview. The three-day event will showcase the very best of Scottish printmaking. Expect a captivating mix of established and emerging artist printmakers, (43 of us) exhibiting a diverse range of printmaking techniques and styles.

Printmakers of Scotland is a newly formed collective, established in 2023. We are a diverse group of printmakers, some residing in remote corners of Scotland, united by our shared passion for print media. The collective’s mission is threefold:

  • To ignite a passion for printmaking: We seek to raise awareness and appreciation for original prints, showcasing the unique creative processes and exceptional talent within Scotland.

  • To foster a supportive printmaking community: We connect printmakers across the country, fostering collaboration and knowledge exchange.

  • To cultivate a thriving print collecting community: We hope to provide a platform for collectors to discover and acquire original works by Scottish printmaking masters.

Join us for a celebration of creativity, community, and the enduring tradition of printmaking in Scotland.
