Curlew In The Grass II
Curlew In The Grass II
INSPIRATION
"Curlew in The Grass" - An abstracted collagraph print that captures the essence of the natural moorland habitat of the curlew. Created by CArol Nunan when she lived near the vast rolling uplands of the Northumberland National Park, this print celebrates the enigmatic curlew, an endangered bird that gracefully inhabits the moors, loughs, and coastal areas throughout the seasons.
My deep connection to the natural surroundings inspired the creation of this print. The unmistakable silhouette of the curlew takes center stage. The printing process itself incorporates the plants and grasses commonly found in the curlew's habitat, seamlessly intertwining the bird and its environment. This artistic approach is a characteristic of my work to serve as a reminder of the curlew's fragile existence and the importance of preserving its habitat.
