INSPIRATION

Colourful seascape art of an iconic area of the Northumbrian coast by Irish artist, Carol Nunan who lived and worked in Northumberland but now lives of the west coast of Scotland on the Isle of Bute. It is an original semi-abstract painting in print form of Dunstanburgh Castle available to buy here online.

“This monotype art print is inspired by the special winter light and moods of the sea. This is a very familiar walk I’ve done with my family over the years from Newton-By-The-Sea, usually on a cold and windy December day or New Years Day when we met up with Scottish cousins for a pub lunch.

We have a bracing winter walk across this stretch of beach toward Dunstanburgh Castle over the headland before heading for the warm fire in the pub and hot ports.”
