Fishing On The Edge
Fishing On The Edge
INSPIRATION
"Awaiting The Catch" is a coastal art print that combines monotype and collagraph techniques to depict the elegant and unique profile of the curlew by the shore. Carol Nunan's encounters with these birds, either individually or in large flocks, on the rocky outcrops and sandy stretches of the Isle of Bute. They are a frequent source of inspiration. In Northumberland, the haunting, plaintive call of curlews on the Northumberland moors near Hadrian's Wall or along the Northumbrian coast left a lasting impression.
The print expertly captures the curlew's poised and steadfast demeanour as it combs the shoreline in pursuit of food. Its silent watchfulness reflects its patient exploration of the water's edge.
