INSPIRATION
Summit Snow
This contemporary collagraph print captures the breathtaking essence of the Scottish winter landscape. As snow blankets the highlands, it highlights the peaks and adds a layer of drama to the already dramatic scenery. Featured at the Festival of Printmaking at Stirling University this August 2024, each print is a narrative in itself, echoing Carol’s deep appreciation for the rich heritage surrounding her.
In "Summit Snow," the unique textures of the collagraph technique serve to convey the quiet beauty and stark contrasts of winter. The interplay of white snow against the rugged landscape draws the viewer in. This work is enriched by Carol's connection to the environment. It is honed through her experiences in both Northumberland and her current home on the Isle of Bute. Each piece not only represents a visual interpretation of the landscape but also embodies the emotions and stories that inspire her creative journey.
