How It Works

Studio Induction

  • This is required for independent studio use if you haven't attended a workshop within the past 3 months

  • It ensures you can navigate the studio, use equipment safely, and understand the studio health & safety protocols

  • Personalised orientation will help you feel confident and comfortable in the space

Flexible Booking Options

  • One-off sessions for specific projects

  • Occasional use when inspiration strikes

  • Regular weekly bookings to establish a creative routine

  • Monthly access for dedicated practitioners

  • Standard hours: 10:00am - 4:00pm (flexible arrangements available)

Professional Equipment & Setting

My studio is professionally equipped and situated overlooking stunning Rothesay Bay and the Ferry Terminal, providing both inspiration and convenience. Available resources include:

  • Hawthorn Printmaker 545 Etching Press with generous press bed size

  • Professional brayers in various sizes for different applications

  • Comprehensive range of high-quality Hawthorn inks

  • Specialised tools and materials for monotype, monoprint, and collagraph techniques

  • Expert guidance always available with Carol on-site

Affordable Rates

  • £10.00 per 3-hour session (includes inks and cleaning supplies)

  • £20.00 per full 6-hour day

  • Materials (mountboard, printmaking papers, acid-free tissue, newsprint) available for purchase

Materials Ordering Service

I order most of my printmaking materials - carborundum,plates, rollers, etc, from Hawthorn Printmaking Supplies and papers from RK Burt. High shipping costs can be a deterrent if you are placing a small order yourself. I offer a service where you can piggy back your order with mine so that shipping costs are shared and more affordable.
