Stalking The Depths II | Wildlife Art Print
INSPIRATION
"Stalking The Depths II" is a coastal art print that deftly merges the techniques of monotype and collagraph to pay homage to the statuesque elegance of the grey heron. These birds stand patiently watchful at the water's cusp, along the shores of the Isle of Bute and the Northumberland coast, surveying the depths of the tide in search of sustenance.
The print captures the heron's tranquil and commanding presence, as it perches upon the rugged landscape just above the waterline. Carol Nunan finds her inspiration in personal encounters herons close to her home in Rothesay and ton the Northumbrian coastline, as well as in the lively scenes of heron nests near Lochranza on the Isle of Arran. Through the skillful blend of monotype and collagraph techniques, the minimalist print conveys the heron's serene yet unwavering character.
