When I am standing in the presence of standing stones they emit certain feelings within. With the dramatic power of "Standing Sentry," a large-format contemporary monotype art print I attempt to capture the imposing presence of the Brevig standing stone overlooking Brevig Bay on the Isle of Barra. This original artwork is part of a new series exploring the iconic standing stones of Scotland's West Coast and Islands. I wanted to convey the raw energy I felt at the time on the site high up above the sea, with the wind catching my hair. This stone is the last one standing up there, steadfast against the backdrop of a brewing storm. Available to buy framed or unframed.
