INSPIRATION

The idea for this print placing the focus on an owl on the hunt grew out of a series of prints I made featuring the endangered curlew. I work with distinctive silhouettes, castles and landscapes so I began to think about other wild birds that have a very distinctive silhouette. I’m working towards creating a series of prints focusing on our rich wild bird population in Northumberland. Many of them are endangered because of human activity. I want to use my work to remind us of what we have, to appreciate it and look after it for our children and grand children.
